Background Information:

Many school systems across the State have asked TSBA for guidance in creating a policy regarding social networking websites.  In response, TSBA has updated its Policy #4.406 to include provisions on social networking. Please see the next to last section on the last page of this revised policy for the relevant changes. The Board’s current policy is attached for reference.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the above-noted amendment to Board Policy #4.406 – Use of the Internet, on second and final reading.
